About Model Health

Model Health is a Belgian–American software company transforming how human movement is measured and understood. Founded by former Stanford University researchers, Model Health combines cutting-edge biomechanics with artificial intelligence to deliver advanced movement analysis using nothing more than a smartphone.

Our technology originated from academic research in neuromuscular biomechanics and is already trusted by more than 10,000 users worldwide in universities, research centers, and leading organizations.

By replacing expensive, complex laboratory equipment with accessible smartphone video and AI, Model Health is democratizing movement analysis for the real world. Our platform empowers physiotherapists, coaches, sports organizations, and health professionals to prevent injuries, guide rehabilitation, and optimize performance with clinical-grade insights.

Backed by leading sports-focused investors, renowned clinicians, and experienced tech entrepreneurs, we are building an intuitive, scalable tool to make high-quality movement analysis available to everyone who works to improve human performance and health.

Role Overview

  • As the Business Development Manager for the USA, you will be our first full-time hire in the region and the first point of contact for local Model Health sales prospects and existing customers.
  • This is a full-cycle sales role: you will create your own pipeline, conduct product demonstrations, guide prospects through trials, and secure new business with clinics, sports teams, universities, and research groups.
  • You will be a founding member of our US commercial team, helping to develop both a category and a team from the ground up.
  • We are open to two profiles: allied health and performance professionals drawn to the challenge of commercial work, and experienced sports-tech, med-tech or SaaS salespeople who want to represent a product they believe in.
  • In both cases, success is measured by the pipeline generated and revenue closed within your territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own your territory. Manage the sales process end-to-end as the primary point of contact.
  • Generate pipeline. Proactively prospect into clinics, professional sporting teams, universities, and research groups through outbound outreach. You will not rely solely on inbound leads.
  • Run product demonstrations. Deliver compelling virtual and in-person demos that show practitioners how Model Health fits their workflow. Our demo kit includes smartphones, tripods and a tablet, no heavy equipment.
  • Manage trials to close. Partner with customer success and product teams to run trials that convert interested prospects into paying customers.
  • Own your number. Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly quota targets.
  • Maintain CRM discipline. Track and manage all pipeline activity in HubSpot with daily, accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Represent Model Health. Attend and represent the company at conferences and industry events in the USA.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential

  • A credible background and existing network in allied health, sports performance, or a related field (e.g. physiotherapy, athletic training, strength & conditioning, biomechanics, exercise science), or a track record of sales success in med-tech or sports-tech SaaS sales.
  • Strong communication skills across in-person, video, phone, and written channels.
  • Comfort with outbound prospecting and initiating cold conversations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while owning a territory and a target.
  • A reliable means of traveling.
  • Eligibility to work and live in the United States.

Preferred

  • Located on the East Coast of the USA
  • 3+ years of experience in a field-based, commercial, or clinical role (new graduates with the right drive are welcome to apply).
  • Experience with a CRM platform (HubSpot preferred).
  • Proficiency with everyday productivity tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Google Workspace).
  • An existing network within clinical, sports performance, or academic communities

Travel & Working Conditions

This is a field-based role, but a light one by industry standards. Expect approximately 20–30% travel, primarily day trips within your region for on-site demonstrations, plus occasional overnight stays for longer sales campaigns and attendance at industry conferences.

Because Model Health runs on a smartphone, there is no heavy demo equipment to transport; your demo kit fits in a backpack. The role is otherwise home-office based.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus commission
  • Work from home
  • Full remote work setup: laptop, tablet, and demo kit
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • The opportunity to help build a market for Model Health in the USA from the ground up

*\Model Health is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
